Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks: Blocks 5 and 6

My block is made a little different than the instructions in the magazine.  I visited Robin's site during the blog tour and saw different variations of the block made into quilts.  I was so fascinated by them that I put this block high on my list to make.  It's the same block that's used in the tree skirt sew along but looks completely different with two prints instead of two tone on tone fabrics.

6 - Maywood Blossom

This is my first applique (mixed technique) block.  I figured I should start some of these now so I will not have all applique blocks at the end of the journey.

I have 2 online bloggers participating so please visit their pages.

P.S.  I'm having so much fun!

  1. Your blocks are great! I am hoping to get my 6th block done today. They are fun to do and I can't believe how different my block 5 is from yours just using different fabrics.

  2. They are wonderful, and I agree with Judy, my block 5 looks totally different. I have both of my blocks done and will post a pic as soon as I wake up a bit more.

  3. WOW and WOW! My block looks so totally different in prints---love it!
Glad the measurement issue was an easy fix.
100 Blocks in a year doesn't sound too overwhelming and having company makes it more fun.
Thank you for sharing this and now I need to look through your blog a bit more to see what you are up to with the rest of the blocks.
