Scrap Quilting Club 3/28/15

We had another fantastic meeting with lots of show-n-tell so this post is photo heavy.

My sister sold fried fish plates to willing participants so we didn't need to leave to eat lunch.  We hadn't done that in a few years.  If she's willing to provide lunches in the future, I'll let you know.

If you are going to the Paducah quilt show the last Saturday of the month, please let me know.

Congratulations to drawing winners:
Door Prizes:  Laura (2FQs), Rita (2FQs), and Sharon S. (1FQ)
Group T-Shirt: Cynthia (5" charm square pack)
Monthly Project: Carol (5 coordinated FQ pack)
Year-long Project: Jennifer (5 coordinated FQ pack)

As usual, I'll start with my projects and then add photos of group members' show-n-tell.  Enjoy!
My year -long project...I made a different row for April.
Courthouse log cabin quilt top I started in class.  I need to add two borders to finish this one.
I loved January's project so much that I made it again for a cousin.  I still need two borders added to the top.
I'm making this one for a cousin too. This one will not get a border as it's for a toddler.
Here a lot of photos from remaining projects shown.

That's it for this month.  Stay tune for more scrap club photos.  In addition, I'm making major life changes that I will share in future posts.  I've been waiting on 2015 for a long, long time.

Design Wall Monday

A few weeks ago I pulled out a UFO I started in October 2008.  I had about 100 of 400 blocks made.  I put those block on the wall to do a little playing for motivation to get the other 300 blocks completed.  I like this setting but will not do this one as I want to start another project similar to this one with this setting.
This is the setting I planned to make, just straight rows.  I've always wanted this style of quilt on my bed.  I love the alternating red and green squares.
Yeah!  I got all the blocks made.  I pressed the green ones and started sewing them into pairs.
I finished my Rouge River log cabin quilt top. It's now in the to-be-quilted pile.
Here is a mug rug I made.  The loop can hang the mat when storing or it can used as a cup marker by wrapping around the handle.  This is my test mug and I plan to make more for Christmas gifts.

Design Wall Monday and Wedding

My Rouge River Log Cabins blocks are all made.  I even got to piece the center section together.  Now, I just need to add the border blocks.  I'm glad this one is getting close to being done! LOL
I had another birthday on Saturday and my brother also got married on that day.  I had a wonderful birthday, first sewing with the scrap quilting club, attending the wedding and then visiting with family (especially those from out of town) and friends.
Me and my hubby at the wedding.
